Caring For Your Tree
"A Holiday Tradition"
Care for your tree once its home is important. A few simple care tips will enhance the enjoyment of your Christmas tree and keep it fresh and fragrant throughout the holiday season. When you bring your tree home cut one quarter of an inch off the base of the trunk. If you are not immediately taking the tree into your house, keep the tree in a bucket of water outdoors or in an unheated area, protected from the wind or sun. This will help the tree retain its moisture. If your tree has been kept outdoors, when you bring it into your home make a second fresh cut. Use a tree stand that holds at least a gallon of water. If you allow the water level to drop below the fresh cut a seal will form, considerable slowing the water uptake. Check the stand daily and supply fresh water as needed.
